Your Arrival by Air...

You can arrive in Western Newfoundland by Air Canada Dash 8 air service at either the Deer Lake Airport or the Stephenville Airport via St. John's, Newfoundland or Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our guests are picked up at the appropriate airport and returned there after their hunting experience - to connect with their flight home. Our base camp staff will be delighted to make, adjust or confirm any flight arrangements you may want.

The trip by vehicle from Stephenville or Deer Lake airports is provided by Mitchell's Pond Hunting & Fishing Outfitters.

Your Arrival by Road...

Alternatively, you can arrive by road by using the Trans Canada Highway from St. John's (750 kilometers) or from the Marine Atlantic ferry arrival point from Nova Scotia at the Town of Port aux Basques (125 kilometers) from Mitchell's Pond.

If you choose to arrive by car in Western Newfoundland you use the Marine Atlantic ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland - a 4 - 6 hour or overnight 120 mile trip on a modern, ocean-going ship - an experience in itself! Detailed directions to the Mitchell's Pond base camp area - where you can store your vehicle while you are enjoying your hunt - is available upon request. Mitchell's Pond staff provide transportation for the storage area to the camp upon your arrival.

Hunters and fishermen requiring hotel or motel accommodations on the front or back end of their hunting trip at the Mitchell's Pond camp will be arranged on behalf of the client, and confirmations provided by fax, e-mail or "snail mail".
